Who Should Take This Course

Fire emergencies can occur in any workplace, but healthcare settings present unique challenges: patients on life support, individuals with mobility limitations, and oxygen-enriched environments that accelerate combustion. Every clinical and non-clinical employee — nurses, physicians, medical assistants, housekeeping, administrative staff, and home health aides — must know how to respond.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to establish written Emergency Action Plans (29 CFR 1910.38) and Fire Prevention Plans (29 CFR 1910.39), and to train all employees on portable fire extinguisher use annually (29 CFR 1910.157). This course fulfills those annual training requirements.
