Who Must Complete This Training
CMS-Mandated for Medicare & Medicaid Participants
CMS requires FWA training for all employees and contractors of Medicare Advantage organizations, Part D plan sponsors, and their first-tier, downstream, and related entities (FDRs). This includes physicians, nurses, billing and coding staff, administrative personnel, and any individual who performs functions on behalf of a CMS-regulated plan.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of Inspector General (OIG) recognize FWA training as a cornerstone of an effective compliance program. Training must be completed within 90 days of hire and repeated annually.
